I was diagnosed with alzheimer type dementia moderate in 2001. Taking Aricept, I was able to work until 2004, and now I'm on disability. I believe that Aricept slowed the progression of my condition to the point that I'm still in a state of worry about me, including the movement and residence only. It might not work quite like this for everyone, but any productive time that it can give a person, is very welcome. I can honestly recommend any Aricept with this type of dementia. Vertigo stopped after giving doses before bedtime. He went to 10mg daily, beginning after 3 weeks of 5mg. He takes 5mg at 8:00 and another 5mg at 20:00. He never had any dizziness after the first week of treatment. His appetite is excellent, and he has no nausea. I recommend Aricept others, and they have had positive results, although not quite as fast as my Dad has. It's been almost five months since Dad has started processing, and we still see the extended improvement.
