General use
Zetia is an antihyperlipidemic agent, which is used for the treatment of high blood cholesterol along with a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet. He also is used to treat high blood sitosterol, campesterol and with diet therapy. Heart disease or heart attacks are not prevented Zetia, studies show.

Dosage and direction
Take this medication orally with or without food/milk. Recommended Zetia dose is 10 mg once a day. Patients who require a greater reduction in LDL-C (more than 55%) can be run on 10-40 mg once a day.

Precautions
It should not be use without doctor's permission. Be careful, if you have a specific medical conditions, this medicine should not be taken together with statins. This is especially true if you have liver disease or are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. If you are pregnant, this drug should be used only if absolutely necessary. If you drink large amounts of alcohol, you should be strictly controlled by the doctor, as they take this medication.

Contraindications
Not allowed in the people who hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. The Combination of Zetia with hmg-Coa reductase inhibitors are not allowed in patients with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of transaminases in blood serum. All of hmg-Coa reductase inhibitors are not allowed in pregnant and lactating women. Myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.

Possible side effect
They can include all kinds of allergic reactions. Also the most possible side effects include:
unusual muscle weakness, tenderness, or pain;
loss of appetite, nausea, clay-colored stools, abdominal pain, fever, dark urine, jaundice;
pain in the breast;
pancreatitis;
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, redness of skin, skin rashes.
Less serious include:
numbness, or anxiety;
mild pain in the abdomen, diarrhoea;
the feeling of fatigue;
headache;
dizziness;
depressed mood;
runny or stuffy nose, cold symptoms;
pain in the joints, pain in the back; or
cough.
If you experience one of them to cease the use of Zetia and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult with your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Drug interaction
Zetia interact with the following drugs: cholestyramine (Prevalite, Questran); colestipol (Colestid); colesevelam (Welchol); gemfibrozil (Separately); cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune, Gengraf); or a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin).
Also, note that the interaction between two medications does not always mean that you
must stop taking one of them. As usual, it influences the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how this interaction is carried out or should be managed.

Missed dose
If you forget to take your dose at the time, so please take it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dosage. Take your usual dose of next day, at the same time on a regular basis.

Overdose
Symptoms Zetia overdose are not known, but it can be dangerous.
If you experience one of them, consult a doctor immediately.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 59-77 degrees f (15 to 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture, children and pets. Do not use after the expiry of the term.
